Introduction
These loaded cheese fries are the ultimate comfort food! Golden crispy fries are smothered in gooey melted cheese, topped with savory bacon, and finished with fresh herbs. Perfect as a party snack, game-day appetizer, or indulgent side dish to share with family and friends.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes (or 1 bag frozen fries)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, or a mix)
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Oil for frying (if making fries from scratch)
Instructions
Prepare fries: Peel and cut potatoes into fries (or use frozen). Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
Cook bacon: In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Drain and crumble into pieces.
Make cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute. Slowly add milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Stir in cheese until melted and creamy. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Assemble: Place fries on a serving dish. Pour cheese sauce over the fries. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and fresh parsley.
Serve hot: Enjoy immediately while gooey and melty!
