Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)

300 g (about 10 oz) ground sausage or minced meat

100 g (1 cup) shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

2 tbsp tomato or pizza sauce (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp milk (to mix with the egg)

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: dried herbs (oregano, thyme, or paprika)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the puff pastry:

Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.

Spread a thin layer of tomato or pizza sauce over the pastry (optional).

Add the filling:

Evenly sprinkle the raw ground sausage (or minced meat) over the pastry.

Add shredded cheese on top.

Season with salt, pepper, and herbs to taste.

Roll it up:

Carefully roll the pastry from one edge to the other, forming a tight log.
